So last night, I got my Supertones in. I feel kinda "ricey" because they aren't wired in yet (didn't have time on a school night)... but I was able to get them mounted.

I REALLY hate all the 06's I've seen with the Supertones mounted right next to eachother, both visible through the center grill. I think it makes the car look cross-eyed.

I like the way the 04-05 WRX's had them separated further apart.

So.... I tore the grills off, and looked for a suitable mounting point... and found a great location.... the support bolts for the radiator.

I did have to remove the back-plates to my side grills to fit the Supertones in there, but it didn't affect the structural integrity of the grills... and I'm quite pleased with how they look:

I don't see any pics i just say "exceeded bandwidth".

I've got 3500 GB per month bandwidth that I won't even begin to come close to using. Just let me know if you ever need hosting.

Turns out.. GFB makes a great product... no adverse effects at all. And I was surprised, there is actually a small performance gain.
Do you have any before and after logs or data that can confirm this or are you just going by the old butt dyno? It's generally the 100% atmoshereic BOV's that cause the idling/stalling issues.

No, no real "data" to prove my claims... just the butt-dyno.

I did notice my boost gauge held steady a little longer, and tapered down a little later.

Not much at all.... maybe a couple extra HP... hardly worth spending hundreds of dollars on a new recirculating BOV.

I got mine used for under $100.... thats the only reason I bought it. I figured if it made the car run worse, I could just turn it over on ebay.

Turns out, the GFB doesn't hurt my car at all... doesn't affect the way it runs (negatively) at all.

Non-recirculating BOVs are the ones that cause backfiring, stalling, etc. I heard the same thing you did.

Most/some aftermarket BOV's that vent can actually cause you to lose performance if your stocker was working normaly. Most peoples butt dynos are generally out of calibration. Since you have the AP if you have a laptop with a serial port or use a USB/serial adapter, you should be able to download Ecuexplorer (free) and be able to log the car. It's a neat little tool that is a great diagnostic aid and can help you weed through the hype and really see for your self whats happening to your car (if you want).Stuff like watching your IAT's skyrocket at idle,AFR's go whack at w.o.t., and MAF scaling get skewed from using a poorly designed S.R.I. Little info about BOV's http://www.spdusa.com/blow-off_valves.htm Not saying the SPT intake or GFB bov are causing any dramatic problems but thinking your car is running right and knowing your car is running right are two different things.By taking a baseline log before and after installing parts then comparing the two can help spot potential problems or to see if performance has changed.Believe it or not the 06-07 WRX's actually use a slightly larger MAF housing than the 02-05's.This means using an intake designed for an 02-05 on a 06-07 will cause you to run even richer than normal. Not going to hurt the car,but probably not going to help performance.Probably why when you buy the SPT from the dealership and have it installed they reflash the ECU (or are supposed to).Not trying to rain on your parade, just trying to bring some info to light.I really like the route you've gone!Nice stylish outside look. Not the attention screamer look most people seem to like. That grey is such a great color!

So I was off today, and I met my wife in SLC on her lunchbreak. I stayed for the next 1.5 hours or so, and we decided to go on an expedition to find Cobb Tuning. Turns out it was only about 5 or 6 miles from my wife's job

Well worth the trip. "Parker".... super-cool guy took me back to see the dyno, gave us a tour of the place, and then just chatted "Subaru" with me for over an hour. I still have plans to get dynotuned.... but I can't decide if I want to do that first, or get some swaybars... same price, but don't have the cash for either right now.

I did get a free COBB T-shirt too..... cool huh?

Sorry the pics are low quality... cameraphone... it's all I had with me.

Even got one of the wife's Maxda3 and the Cobb Mazdaspeed3:

    Bov`

Gotta say, I found a WorxTuning DS2 CHEAP... adjustable recirc/atmosphere BOV.
I have it MAYBE 30% vent to atmosphere and I dont have a problem either with stumbling or backfiring. ANd I agree... I notice that my shifts are cleaner -- my wife and I notice that the spoolup time is noticably QUICKER with this BOV. It's a bigger valve so it can move pressure/air more quickly which I would assume less backpressure on your turbo keeping it spinning...

    You have 3 options:

    1) Underneath the intercooler,a brass, quarter-sized fitting, with a hex shape sunken head.... EXTREMELY difficult to get to - not recommended

    2) an oil filter adapter plate - I've used 2 of them, Glow**** doesn't fit at all, greddy started leaking in under a month - not recommended.

    3) The original oil sending unit, located right behind the alternator, slightly to the passenger side. Remove it and install the OP gauge. You will need to contact Autometer and get the adapter # (I forgot the #)... it's about $15.00, and any auto parts store can have it to you in 2 days.

NOTE: I did not get a CEL when I removed the original OP sender, but I'm also using a cobb accessport... I don't know if you will if you're not using an EM

Regardless, option 3 is your best, safest bet.
