Thanks guys for your kind words.

The car is not officially up for sale yet. I had a little "oops" recently, so it is in the shop getting the front bumper replaced. No biggy, no frame damage.... didn't even damage the radiator for that matter. It ended up being a blessing in disguise because now the front bumper and paint will be brand new..... no more rock chips, new STI lip spoiler, etc. Good stuff.

Anyway... I love this car.... I wish I could afford to keep it, AND buy a newer nice car, but I can't do both. With that said.... I still LOVE driving it.. I just can't drive it to work daily, and I certainly can't take it on any more long road trips. If I can't sell it... I'll probably just buy a comfortable daily driver.... but it won't be a "nice" daily driver unless I sell the WRX.

If I'm going to sell the WRX, I'm not going half-assed... I'm going to get something AWESOME.... like a 2004-2006 Audi A8. Obviously I'll have to put a few more thousand dollars down on the Audi to get it... so I may wait for awhile to "officially" put it up for sale so I can get through all the expenses associated with Christmas. But.... if I get a decent offer... I'll sell it now.

Speaking of Christmas..... I'm heading to Florida on Monday to pick up my daughter's early christmas present. I'm going to drive it home. She's 16... this is her first car. She's HUGE into Japanes anime, Japanese culture, and love's vintage Japanese sports cars... especially tiny 2-seaters.

2 owners.... all documentation since new.. original window sticker... receipts for all oil changes and maintenance.... everything. The owner of this car is as neurotic as I am.. which is a good thing.

I cannot believe someone actually bothered to keep this type of car in this good of condition... It amazes me when I see it.... and my daughter loves it, which is always important.

Behold.... a 1985 (2nd year of production) Toyota MR2... 100% bone stock and unmolested. It is already bought and paid for and the title has been transferred. I just need to pick it up. It'll be in the driveway this time next week:

Very lucky daughter! I've always liked those MR2s...back when Toyota had some quality and not a new recall every other month!

I can't believe how good of shape that thing is in, especially for a 27 year old car!!!

Awesome build, sorry to hear about your migraines. I have migraines every few weeks, everyone in my family does. Luckily I don't have cluster headaches like my dad (migraines, but more frequent, and more painful). Have you found the wonder drug Imitrex yet? Expensive, but worth every penny when the time comes.

    Haven't posted anything in awhile.....

Been seeing a physical therapist/Osteopath.... and I've been going through cervical neck traction 3-5 times per week. No.... that has nothing to do with the inside of a Vag - LOL. Basically, they "stretch" my neck away from my shoulders and hold it there for about 15 minutes and take the pressure off of those disks. I even have my own "home traction" device I like to call "the decapitator". It is providing some relief.

And I just cant sell this car... I love it too much. Once I retire from the military in just over a year.... I'm buying an Audi..... and the Subie will become my next project..... no more worrying about daily-driverability.... she's getting gutted, caged, back on coilovers, etc.

In the meantime..... I did finally install a set of kyb gr2 struts onto the tanabe df210 springs. I had no choice.... the headaches were killing me. Better than stock... and I can still keep the low stance without beating myself up too much.... it was a good compromise.

Oh yea..... and unfortunately the powdercoat on my lugs finally started to chip off after 3 years and about 10, 000 removals.

So I picked up these cool muteki forged chrome blue lugs...... with actual locks so my wheels don't get snatched by some Texas meth head lol I still like the exact match of the powdercoating..... but with all the chipping over the years... they started to look spraypainted...... and I don't even want to get started on spraypainting parts - LOL

They actually have a pretty "blingy" reflective glare... almost like they are electroplated. Maybe they are? Came out as just dull blue in the pics though... hmmmm

Well.... it's been fun. I've been building and documenting this car for 7 years and it is finally over. Thanks for all the support I've received in this thread over the past 6+ years.

Gonna miss the little wrx... I have a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in that car.

Most of you know that suspension was just beating the crap out of me. Even after I removed the coilovers and installed a more traditional suspension.... I still couldn't drive the car more than an hour without getting a headache due to my neck issues.

And...... I'm 37 years old. Honestly..... kinda tired of the typical wrx driver staying about 22-23 years old...... while I keep getting older... and older. It was time to upgrade to something bigger, more comfortable, "squishier" on the neck, more luxurious.... etc. Tired of cops looking at me like I'm an 18 year old streetracer...... just kinda "tired". The WRX is like a childhood friend to me...... that I have many fond memories of..... but really have nothing in common with anymore.

I'll be damned if I'm going to buy a f-ing Grand Marquis or a Caprice. So the way I look at it.... if you're going to buy a "grown up" car.....buy a damned car and do it right. If I have to embrace being middle aged....... I'm going to embrace the fu)k out of it.

    The new Baby....... a 2007 Audi S8...... with a 450 horsepower V-10

FULLY loaded.... 13 speaker surround sound... adaptive dynamic suspension.... 20' wheel package.... suede headliner... wood grain... heads up nav... 16 way power seats.... 4-zone climate controll..... heated/cooled front and rear seats.......even heated/cooled cupholders - LOL

Nope.... it was a tough trade-in... and it took a couple hours...... but the Audi dealership in St. Louis was able to send out some pictures and find a VERY interested party.... which got me almost as much on a trade in as it would if I'd sold it privately.... without all the hassle.

and considering I only paid taxes on the difference, rather than the entire purchase price..... I thinkk I might have actually saved money by trading it in.

    Yea.... the WRX is gone.

Great engine! For those that don't know, this is a slightly modified V10 engine from the Lambo Gallardo, with a wider bore and longer stroke to increase displacement to 5.2L, instead of 5.0L.
