you ever get a 6speed set aside for her yet? (wrx). If you car is the TR model 07 the 6speed is almost a dirrect bolt up. the mechanic at my tune shop stated some ralley teams used the TR as a race car and the 6speed is an extremely easy swap, but i believe u dont have the rear diff controler

Your mechanic is wrong. All gearboxes from 03-07 were the exact same... it doesn't matter if it's a TR or not. You still have to replace a good majority of the driveline.

And there isn't a reardiff controller... it's a driver controlled center differential (DCCD). All WRXs have the R160... all STis have the R180 rear differential. VLSD (Viscous Limited Slip Differentials) are more aggressive on the STi than the WRX, but they all have the VLSD.

He showed me a TR that he had finished i dont remember what exactly was needed but it was a hell of alot easy then a non TR. earlier years you would need a full swap out ie hubs axles etc etc The TR pretty much have a 6 speed bolt right into it. They run time attack race team and the TR was one of there cars

There isn't any way that's possible. The WRX and WRX TR use male/male axles, the STi uses male/female axles. The driveshaft length is different between the 6spd and 5spd. The rear diff is different... There's a good portion that needs replaced. The WRX TR and WRX have the exact same hub/gearbox/axle/driveshaft/rear differential.

im just tell you what i saw and heard. The TR has something different about it that made it compatible for the swap, its alot easier than other year WRXs and doesnt involve alot of parts. I dont know what it is exactly but i believe its something to do with the Rear diff

Find out more info and then PM me... I'm going to whole heartedly disagree with you on this one until I can get some facts about it... but let's not cloud up ninefourteener's thread.

+1 on the disagreeing. I'm with Kevin on this. I think it should warrant its own thread.

    Dear Grimmspeed Corporation,

    F**K YOU!!

Yes, you heard me..... F**K YOU!! I officially hate you. I hate you with the most bitter of all passions, that I cannot possibly explain it in words.

I bought your master cylinder brace... Sure, it's a good, quality piece. Sure, it's attractive. Sure, it was a good price. Sure, it came with directions, all the necessary high-quality hardware, and the fitment was absolutely top-notch in relation to how accurately the holes bolted up to the factory holes. In fact, the piece was as high-quality of a piece I've ever bought.

What it didn't come with, was a G*D DAMN warning label specifically stating that installing this f-ing thing was about as difficult as giving birth to a moose.... from my ass.

I can honestly say, after nearly $20,000 in mods over a 5-year period..... this was without exception, the most difficult install I've ever done on my car. I would rather do another set of coilovers, another turbo, 9 more gauges, and even a G*d damn engine swap before I ever attempt to install another one of these things.

The term "close quarters" cannot even possibly begin to explain how difficult it was to remove all the necessary hardware, and then re-install the new hardware. My knuckles are bleeding, my lower back feels like I just got kicked in the kidneys by a pregnant yak. I'm certain that I will notice the difference in pedal feel and braking quality next time I go to the track.....so I'm glad it's done..... although I wish I didn't have this experience permanently burned into my memory.

All kidding aside... it's an exceptionally high quality part.

All kidding aside.... my wife is laughing at me because I'm so sore, I'm walking like I just got repeatedly prison raped. I have no idea how "good" it is yet... because I can't drive a car right now I'm so sore.

My advice..... don't do this install unless the engine (and all the wiring/hoses) are out of the car.

    Nevertheless.... pics:

Interesting part. I have never heard of anybody having one, even not grimmspeed.

Thanks for the heads up on the install. Might be a nice part for somebody to pick up and wait until a major install to put in.

    Actually...... No.

Imagine how hard it was to install..... I can't even get the camera in there to take pics.

On a good note.... I ABSOLUTELY notice a significant difference in pedal feel.... just on the quick 2-mile drive to work (at slow speeds).

Pedal feels much more "firm" and secure. Much like adding steel braided lines, although this is more significant of an improvement.

Participated in yesterdays (Feb 12th) Wintercross event. Absolute blast. How can you argue with a $65 entry fee, and $50 worth of race gas? 7 runs total. Here's some videos of three of them:

Sorry about the wind noise.... gotta keep the windows open for safety reasons.

Later in the afternoon..... see if you can spot the two "gravel pits" left on the track from some other unlucky victims - LOL

And a few pics from the event:
