hey thanks man and i just wanted to respect you and ask you first. Since you were a genius at wiring the I/C tank this should be easy for you to answer. My gauges i need help wiring them and how to do it. im getting 6 i have 3 now. how did you wire yours???? did you use a harness? mine are the prosport green gauges i want them white during the day green at night when i turn my head lights on. any tips for me i was going to try to splice the 6 wires to one to make things easier but maybe you can help me

If you don't mind, I can jump in here. I had 3 Prosport gauges and you can splice all the power wires together to get the desired affect. You can also splice all the ground wires together, as long as the splices are clean and direct. Twistcaps, crimps and shrink tape, etc are suggested to make sure your splices are adequately protected and tight. If you need any extra wiring, Radio Shack (or even Home Depot/Lowes) will have good extra wire you can use to extend from the Prosport gauge harnesses to its power/ground source. For that, I used the power/ground source of the clock in the center.

thanks its a start in the right dirrection how did you wire them like i want the white for the day green when the head lights come on etc etc. which wires did you tape into in the cabin to do so???
see i was going to take a 3 16 gauge wires and solder clips off of them to and the same on the gauges to mate everything together and wrap it all in wire loom i know its simple wiring gauges but im confused and swamped lol

^^^ Agreed..... Splice the power, ground, and acc into the same location. I used the stereo harness to wire into.... it was easiest for me. I suppose the clock would work as well. I personally avoided it because of the airbag indicator though.

If I may suggest.... with 6 gauges... you will draw attention... and visibility in high-fog conditions is low with that much interior light.

For both of those reasons... I wired in an override switch to dim all the gauge lights, but keep the headlights on.

Yellow/Green wire - ACC (to power your gauges)
Violet wire - Illumination (to power the lights)
Orange/white - Dimmer (optional - some gauges don't even have this feature)
Black wire - Ground

My advice would be to wire in an inline switch in the violet wire. When your headlights are on, your gauge lights are on.

But when you flip the switch off, it will cut the illumination to the gauges (not the power, just the light).

I like to call it my "stealth switch". I had it mounted in the center console for years... but when I did the I/C sprayer, I relocated it to one of the blanks on the left side of the steering wheel.

ok this is really helping me i like the idea of the switch and im going to incoperate it into the system, now when you tapped into the stereo harness did you do it on the OEM side or the that your radio plugs into ( the wire adapters that are all over walmart and such for after marker radios) also how did you tap in alligator clamps solder

Theoretically it doesnt matter.... So long as the stereo harness has the same colored wires.

I would tap into the oem harness though.... If you ever change your stereo, youll change the aftermarket harness and be forced ro rewire everything.

Yes.... Use vampire clips... They will work best, and you wont have to cut up your factory harness.

ok cool here is the real speed bump sorry for being a nag lol i looked at my directions tonight from the prospor gauges and its says
it had four wires
because its going to be white during the day and green at night it says to wire it like this
red-power
black-ground
white-acc power for the white during the day
orange-parking lamp for the green at night
any tips for this type of wiring set up, sorry again for being a nag

red-power - draw from yellow/green wire in stereo harness
black-ground - draw from black wire in stereo harness
white-acc power for the white during the day - draw from the orange/white wire (dimmer)
orange-parking lamp for the green at night - draw from the violet wire (illumination)

No problem at all.....

hey boss i got my boost gauge wired up tonight question though
when it goes though its opening thing it goes red i flick my inline switch on and it goes green
but me shutting my head lights on and off has no effect on it what so ever
gauge never goes white like i want when the head lights are off and stays green all the time

the wires are like this
red-power
black-ground
white-acc
orange-illumination
red also goes to the boost sender unit
along with the black wire and and green wire from the gauge harness
now in the instructions i got with the kit it said to hook the green wire up to illumination so they stay white when the head lights are off and green when they are on
i tried that but the gauge goes all crazy and reads nothing
any help???

So I've officially decided to "swap" wheels. I have an $1800 set of Works that sit in the garage 95% of the time.... and a $750 set of Rotas that see more action than a truck stop hooker.

So..... I picked these up today.

BFG R1 race tires... about 70-80% Size 245/40/18

They'll hang over a little bit on my 8" wide wheels, but I don't forsee any problems....

So, as soon as I wear out my Hoosiers, I'm replacing them with some decent 255/40/17 all-seasons on my Works as my DD.. and my Rotas will be my track wheels.
