^^^ Now see, I've read numerous things about REDLINE not being suitable for turbo engines..... I've never read anything about negative effects of Royal Purple.

..... or perhaps it was redline gear oil in syncro'd transmissions that I read? Now I can't remember.

    I'll keep reading..... any links??

In the meantime...... my el-cheapo SPI pre and post Intercooler temp gauges took a crap... actually it was quite some time ago. It was the only air temp gauges I could find at the time.... but it just goes to show you... you get what you paid for.

So today... I just purchased a set of Cyberdyne digital ambient air temp gauges, both with memory recall..... more pics when they show up.

I'd heard mixed reviews about the Redline gear oil. I was going to go that route, but bailed after I had heard that as well. But I also heard really good things...guess it was a hit or miss situation.

You know..... I think that is why I chose Amsoil for the tranny when I did a change at 30k miles...... but I used Redline for the rear diff.

Still though.... never heard anything but good things about Royal Purple (other than it is too expensive).... and after seeing how good it looked after being tortured at the track.... I'm a believer.

My car just past 50k miles... which isn't bad for a car I've been driving daily for 5 years.... so it isn't like I'm doing an oil change every 2 months... I do like 3 per year. I can handle the extra $$$

Why would redline make oil for only un-synco'd transmissions? I love the redline super shock in my 6 speed, it shifts like butter. I had royal purple in there before the redline and will never go back. Just my opinion though.

I've been using Redline products for trans/diff fluid for a little over two years now with no problems/complaints.

I've been eyeballing the Blouch 20G turbos. Good service, reliable support, and a fantastic product.

In particular, this TD05-20G for faster spool up (than a TD06), with an 8cm housing for better top end.

yes you are correct i talked to josh at import image and what ever APS products are left in the US is it. APS for some reason pulled out of USDM. I find it funny though they are from the land down under were mooding cars is illegal and a chargable offense. I got my hands on an APS hard turbo inlet and let me tell you that was like trying to find a neddle in a hay stack or a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow

^^^ For $250 per gauge... they ought to be - LOL

    No way.

The cyberdyne gauges I bought generally sell for around $70 - $80 each with the senders included. I got them both for $100 shipped... I thought that was pretty ok.

I'm assuming you mean the sensors, right?

One is in the silicon Y-pipe, the other is in the rubber coupler that connects the Intercooler to the Intake manifold.

Just a small hole, and some high temp RTV

    ^^^ Thanks!!!

The Brat is currently inop again.... I tried and tried and tried to get it through inspections...... tried every trick in the book to cheat the emissions testing..... I got close.... but no go.

So I FINALLY starting digging into the carburetor.... only to discover half of it was MISSING. Yea..... missing. My secondaries are completely inop, and the flap is flopping in the wind... and all the linkage is non-existent.

$265 for a new carb..... not a "huge" deal.... but not right before X-mas.... it's going to have to wait. I'll have the new carb installed mid-Jan.

Yea... the carb on the brat is easy... all it takes is $$$

Protune seems silly now. I'm moving to texas which is like 5000 feet lower in elevation.... plus I'm planning on going the 20G, 850cc, FMIC route...... and I'll be less than 2 hours from Cobb in Texas.

I don't trust opensource. I know there's plenty of good tuners out there... but I'm not one of them. I like having the AP to tell me what CEL codes I have if I get one... the ability to reset the ECU, and a team of professionals that will answer my questions whenever I have them.

The piece of mind is worth it to me. Nevertheless, I'm waiting till I get down to TX.
