The WRX got hit in the parking lot today while I was at work...

.... and the driver that hit me.... and had the decency to leave a note.

Called my insurance company
They called his insurance company
blah blah blah..... long story short..

.... his insurance company is paying for the $405 repair...... plus the cost of a rental car on Monday when it goes into the body shop.

(Crazy color Autobody in Layton.... of course.... because they do some of the best work I've ever seen)

I still say that people in Utah can't drive worth $hit...... but at least I'm not 100% convinced that all people are dishonest.

Bad thing that happened.... but pretty damn awesome that the guy had the common decency to leave a note.

That sucks, but it will be fixed back to OEM. Believe me, I've gone through this too many times before. I can send you Philly pics of how they pushed me sideways out of my spot and took off... no note.

Look on the bright side... the respray will be far better quality than the Subaru factory paint.

Probably a $400 job. Unless the bumper is cracked.

Sorry though... it's like someone hitting Michaelango's David...

No.. Bumper isn't cracked... just some minor paint damage, thats all. The estimate was $405.

Plus, they are paying for a rental car while it's in the shop.

So I took a LONG nap yesterday afternoon..... and then I was up all night.

I had my towhook scanned a few days ago and had some custom paint made up to match all the stuff I've had powdercoated lately..... I've been wanting to re-do my Supertones since I had my brakes done.... finally got it done last night.

Another sand, re-prime, and repaint. I went back to black with the horns... I didn't like the silver color I did last time.

So the rear bumper is fixed.... better than new.... Thank God.

Anyway, somehow I got on a "kick", and wanted a weekend project...... Sooooooo.......

The NT05s are off (and for sale if anyone wants them), and I bought a set of Falken all-seasons for my daily-driving..... and my upcoming to and from trip to St. Louis. The new tires will arrive Monday.... which gives me the weekend to refinish the wheels.

and I couldn't find a set of lugnuts that matched my brakes.... they don't exist.
.... Paint won't last.
.... So the lugnuts got dropped off at the powdercoater this afternoon..... more azure blue.

And...... my $300 eBay X02Racing exhaust is still in perfect shape (imagine that)..... yet my $150 A-Spec muffler is starting to rust.

So the entire axleback... went in for sandblasting, and powdercoating as well..... black chrome

azure blue lugnuts, and black chrome axleback should be back from the powdercoater on Monday night..... I started the wheels tonight.

Thoroughly sanded, scuffed, and primed the top side... letting dry.... I'll do the back sides tomorrow.

BTW.... going with Bronze. Gold is cool, but drowns out the brakes. I like the way they look behind darker wheels. Black is played out.... Gunmetal is 5 years old..... Silver is boring.
