yes. Most bugeye owners use the H6 rear rotors and caliper mounting bracket as a cheap rear bbk

Everything I've done with the calipers so far.......

Forget it....... it was a complete, total, waste of time. VHT is garbage.... and it is supposed to be the "best" spray out there.

Everything looked "pretty" good..... a couple of specs in the clearcoat..... but I'm a perfectionist.... so after it dried, I hit it with some fine steel wool to smooth out any imperfections.

Then I sprayed it with clear again...... 100% coverage with a new "wrinkle" finish..... I was pissed,

Waited for it to dry....... tried to smooth again (but with more effort)..... and the clear got smooth again.... and took some of the blue off with it.

Just goes to show you..... Do it the right way.... or don't do it at all. Caliper paint is ****.

I just got f-ing SCHOOLED tonight.... and some caliper paint just made me its ***** tonight. Dammit..... I almost never "skimp"..... I did it, and now look.... it came out like ****... imagine that.

Nevertheless..... I didn't even wait for a new coat of clear to dry.... I grabbed a hold of those f-ers, wet paint and all..... and pulled all 8 pistons, dust shields, and seals out. Fortunately, the seals and dust shields are IMMACULATE... if they came new iin a package, I would never know... so I don't think I'm going to need new rebuild parts.

As soon as the Brembos come in, I'm doing the same, and they are going off for sandblasting/powdercoating.

I saw the guy on NASIOC that did this to his brakes (VHT).... and they looked great (just like mine did before the 2nd clear)...... I bet they look like ass now though.

So..... just in case you were following and planning on doing this yourself..... don't. Learn from my mistake.

Powdercoat them the right way.... or don't do it at all.

^^^ You know what? Its for the better anyway.

When I was pulling all the seals, dustshields, and pistons out..... I discovered they were IMMACULATE, and the calipers will not need a rebuild.

Plus, the paint really chipped off easily when I was pulling the pistons out. Chances are, even I'd stopped when the calipers looked good (before the 2nd clearcoat), I'd bet they wouldn't look good for long.

So they are going in for powdercoating on Thursday afternoon..... and I KNOW they will look good, and be durable.

Had I know that the seals were in as good of shape as they are..... and that they would come out so easily (with no damage).... I wouldn't have even tried to paint.

Just drilled out all the welds on the rear dust shields...... test fitted the new rear rotors and rear brembos.

    Perfection

..... oooooohhhh.... and my e-brake actually works correctly

Can't wait to get these things on..... I'm having withdrawals from the car being up on jackstands this long.

Calipers are back from powdercoating.... didn't come out exactly the color I expected.... bit I'm happy with them nevertheless. They definitely STAND OUT. And they aren't red or Gold... which is what I was going for.

Got the parts all cleaned up, seals and dust shields all re-installed, and new pads back in.... bleeders back in...... more pics of the fronts coming as I get the time

I didn't have a chance to take pics of the front caliper "rebuilds", but they are basically the same... except with 4 pistons instead of 2.

Anyway..... they are on the car..... bolted up to the new(er) Stoptech braided lines I already had..... which was nice.

Had a couple of leaks..... LF caliper was leaking from the cross-tube...... so I teflon-taped the threads and reinstalled.. no leaks.

Oh.... and I forgot to tighten one of the bleeders on the RR Brembo.... shot brake fluid all over the garage floor..... oops LOL

Everything is good now.... no leaks..... wife's gonna help me bleed them tonight after my son goes to bed.
