    nice!

    Here's a question...can the WRX 4/2 Pot calipers fit on a Legacy GT/Spec.B?

I "think" so.... I've seen it done with Brembos before.

I can tell you all the info about brake interchangability you want to know on an 02-07 WRX... but I don't know much about Legacies, particularly the Spec-B, and any differences it may have from the "normal" Legacy.

With that, check out the Nasioc Brake FAQ... lots of good info.

I would look at the compatibility, based upon what size rotors you have. This thread lists all the different sizes of rotors, and quite a lot of good info about interchangability of calipers.

    Compiled brake information - NASIOC

Added: Come to think of it.... the Legacy uses a 5x114 lug pattern I believe (just like the STI)... so it might be a plug-and-play type of thing.... with the exception of the parking brake.

You might want to check out TRIBECA brakes as well.... not sure what you can use.... but the brakes on my Tribeca are MONSTERS. They aren't as impressive "looking" but I bet those rotors are just as big (if not bigger) than STI rotors.

^^ You're actually the 2nd person that asked me that - LOL

    Sorry, no.

All 4 are getting traded for a front Rotora BBK + cash. They are all packed in a suitcase right now (100 lbs)..... The AF is sending me to a training conference in San Diego Friday morning. Making the trade while I'm there... I'll be coming back with the Rotora BBK

I'm immediately buying rear STI brembos, and some DBA 2657 4000 series rotors with the $$ I'm getting from the trade, plus quite a bit out of pocket.

All 4 new calipers are being rebuilt.... and powdercoated Azure Blue

    Good brake thread. Thanks!

In poking around on the LGT forums, I'm almost positive that all LGTs are actually 5x100 lug patterns.

The Spec.b is actually no different from an LGT in regards to engine, braking, and most of the suspension. 07-09 Spec.B's have a 6-speed manual. All other LGTs have a 5-speed (if not Auto of course) that is what is used in the 09+ WRXs I believe. The 6-speed, contrary to popular belief, is quite different than the STI. Though it is very strong, its ratios are much different and the overall "feel" is supposedly not as tight or as confidence inspiring. Keep in mind this is all just the research I have done...I haven't actually test driven either a Spec.B or an LGT yet...but will this weekend.

But the bread and butter, and the sole reason for the Spec.B designation are the Bilstein struts used in the suspension which improve handling dramatically compared to the LGT.

I'm pretty set on an LGT or Spec.B becoming my next Subaru, pending some successful test drives of course

    They're here

I found out, that the seals have actually recently been replaced.... it seems an awful waste to have to rebuild them again to powdercoat.

So..... I've decided not to go the powdercoating route. It's cost me another $300+ to rebuild them all, so I'm going with the VHT + baking route.

Worst case scenario, I can always powdercoat them in the future.

They are already torn down as far as I can get them without replacing the seals/pistons..... already started the sanding/prepping/primering process... more pics up soon.

DBA rotors and STI brembo rear calipers will be here on the 8th of Feb
Pads for these monsters will be here around the same time.

    Rotora 4-piston calipers (10.5").... (up from 8.5" red 4-pots)
Rotora drilled/slotted 13" rotors..... (up from 11.5" stockers)

Spent literally all night doing the prepwork. Brake cleaner, and lots of acetone. scrubbing, sanding, and re-cleaning fron those irritating brake fluid drips.

I got em all though.... scuffed them up nicely, and primed.

Got em painted this morning... look awesome

Getting ready to be baked at 200degrees for 1 hour.

Then I'll apply the decals, the high temp clearcoat, and steel wool them a bit to smooth them out.

While the calipers were cooking and cooling..... decided to do a little "refresh" on my supertones.... and match the colors.

Silver wheel paint was used on the center portion.

exterior grills used the same VHT high temp, and baked them for an hour at 200 degrees.
