BTW, looking at your engine bay, I think your next mod should be a blue silicon TB hose and a blue Turbo Inlet pipe...

^^ I asked Cobb the same question... and they said it was one of the most worthless mods they've ever seen.

In fact, they said they've seen several of them burn through and collapse right by the turbo inlet. They said my best bet is to just keep it stock

    Next mod?? Brembos.

Gotta get the Brat running and driving.... hopefully to keep the WRX in the garage all winter. red 4-pots are going on eBay.... money is going toward brembos

    After that?? full cage

You could at least get rid of that nasty stock TB coupler...

Yea... I guess I could do that... but I already have my post I/C temp gauge routed into it.

If I get a new one, I'd have to re-modify it for the gauge.

..... all so I can have a blue one?? I mean... yea.. it'd look a little better.... but I can't help but question whether or not it's all worth it, you know?

As far as "underhood dress-up" is concerned.... I'd kinda like the SPT heat shield and radiator shroud.... maybe that chrome alternator cover thing..... otherwise, didn't really have any plans, and even those are way down on the list.

I did the radiator shroud and it did lower the temp 2 degrees at highway cruising, whatever that's worth...lol. But it looks nice.

I changed the TB coupler to a silicon hose with T-clamps, because my stock coupler was coming loose on full boost.

I think you've seen my underhood... it has both of those pieces. If you haven't, I'll send you a pic.

I don't mean to sound c0cky, but I feel that I've got one of the best looking under hoods that I've seen because it's not outlandish with decoration, but it's got enough shiny parts to attract stupid people and raccoons

They are good looking pieces...I had the SPT turbo heat shield. Since going Stage 2 obviously, I didn't put any heat shielding back on til I got that. Never had a chance for the rad shroud though. But the ARC Alternator cover, I always thought that thing looked BALLER...I just couldn't justify the $170? price tag for a piece of metal to look good. It serves NO purpose for performance improvement.

^^^ And that's kinda why they are low on my priority list. Sure, they'd be cool to have, but I'd much rather spend my $$$ on something that's actually going to "do" something.

Maybe the wife will get them for X-mas or something - LOL That's probably the only way I'll ever get them.

The only reason I have the SPT oil cap, is because I happened to get suckered in one day at the dealership (impulse buy). Can't believe I spent $40 on that thing - LOL

Granted, many "bling" factors under the hood do little to absolutely nothing for performance...but I would argue that a turbo inlet hose might make a noticeable difference. Same with any air induction system in which you smooth out the flow or increase it with silicone hoses or something. I wish I could have gotten the APS turbo inlet thingy... that looks solid and is much more affordable than the ridiculously priced $300+ Samco silicone one.

Ah no, that was a few years ago. I served from 2003-2007 mostly at Fort Lewis, WA. I would have loved Carson though - that base is nice and close to home! Fort Lewis is another one of those hidden gems though. Nice place.
