Nope, struts are 100% stock, have 35K miles on the car, and still drives and handles great.

I wouldn't recommend pinks though. Although they are a great spring, (Anything made by Eibach is - Cobb, SPT, Pinks, etc) they are going to re-create the same uneven stance as stock, just lower.

For a moderate, high quality spring, I'd go with the Eibach pro-kit, or the prodrive springs.

Swaybars.... none yet..... been spending all my time/money on the Brat. When i do though, i'm going with the Cobb 25mm setup.

Just finished reading all ten pages. Sweet looking ride and I appreciate how you stuck to a theme in your mods.

I found it looking into the STI Brembos on the stock WRX rims. I also have winters on the stock 17x7s. Good to know they don't fit over the Brembo calipers.

...but then it might be a good excuse for some 04 STI gold rims for the winter

P.S. I would consider replacing your stock Throttle Body to TMIC coupler with a silicone coupler w/ t-clamps (in blue, of course, to match your other hose. Mine kept slipping a little bit with the increased boost on the STI turbo, no matter how much I tightened the stock clamps. I noticed yours had the same slip (look at the slight gap between the coupler and the protruding mark on the TB. You never know if the hose might slip off enough to affect boost one day...

You know, I never noticed any slippage between the throttle body and the coupler..... I have to admit though, I haven't "really" looked either.... I'll have to take a look tonight.

Keep in mind, I have that coupler drilled and high-temp rtv'd to have a temp sensor in there (post intercooler intake temp).... means I have to do that process again.

Thanks though.... I'm gonna take a look tonight.

I have the Cobb and it's not bad, but I think the Kartboy is better.

Stock knob is easy, just unscrew and pull it off the boot. Then go to Redline goods and get a nice italian leather boot.

Well, my battery left me stranded 2 days in a row out in the cold....... figured it was time for an upgrade.

    I'm "Optimized"

I've heard nothing bit good things about Optima batteries..... supposedly they are the best that money can buy. God I hope I didn't just waste a buttload of cash on a battery,

i thought the yellow batteries were the best to get maybe i could be wrong, also did you look at upgrading your alternator maybe that could be the problem especial if you have aftermarket speakers radio gauges etc etc

Yea, I think the yellow top batteries are considered an upgrade, but I had a hard enough time spending $159 on a battery... the yellow top version was $210.

I don't think there is a "problem" with my charging system... I intentionally never installed amps and subs to save weight... and my gauges are all low-wattage LEDs. My OEM battery was 3 years old, so it was about time for it to go anyway.

So..... as if my battery going out wasn't bad enough........ my car left me stranded after sitting outside for 4 days. I cranked the hell out of it, and the new optima didn't even show signs of slowing down..... and it was 6 degrees outside.

My fuel pump "froze"...... no BS...... turned over for 20 minutes.... literally.... got zero fuel pressure.

After pushing it through the snow (ugg) into the warm garage.... with a space heater blowing under the backside.... the pump finally kicked in again. Nevertheless, I assumed it was on it's way out the door.......... so I headed down to Rallysport direct and picked up a Walbro..... what the hell? IO figure if I'm gonna do it... I'll do it right, you know?

Got the Walbro in and working..... doesn't seem much different than the stocker..... but at least I know it's "new"..... and I shouldn't have the same "cold" problems as before.

Not too bad of an install...... about 2 hours..... little tricky getting the pump on the whole assembly.... kinda had to take everything apart and then put it back together..... the pump wouldn't just simply "slide in".

    Anyway..... here's the monster:

    The old pump + assembly:

    The new pump... installed:
