To be fair, that was a 700hp Porsche, so the STi was obviously extremely fast, too. Porsches go fast because they make a lot of power, have great aerodynamics, are relatively light, and that rear weight bias can be nice for a quick start. ![]()

Ferrari's run beautifully around tracks, and from dealership to dealership for service. If you can afford the car, it's not your only vehicle.

Modern Ferrari's are fairly reliable for an exotic if the service regimen is followed. It's expensive but no one ever says they were cheap. Of course after a few belt changes you'll have spent enough money to buy the mechanicn a stock WRX. ![]()

I beg to differ sir. I own both a porsche 911 carrera and STi and I can say the STi is a bit quicker off the line and 1/4 mile but if I were to chose between the two, Porsche would easily be my choice |

Subie engine=Porsche engine
Its not coincidence that they both use a "boxer" motor.Porsche/VW taught the Subie guys how to built motors(for airplanes) right before WWII.Though they are very different motors now the roots and design are very much the same. |
