This is a discussion on sz55 vs. fp green within the Engine Modifications forums, part of the Tech & Modifying & General Repairs category; i did a search and came up with nothing comparing these two well i thought i wanted a fp green ...

    sz55 vs. fp green

    i did a search and came up with nothing comparing these two

    well i thought i wanted a fp green 3" inlet and ewg but then i read this post on another site http://www.iwsti.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41477 <--- look @ the spool up on the sz55 not even their website show good #'s like these http://www.boostplanet.com/product7.htm

    please help me out fp green w/ 3" inlet and ewg or sz55 with fatboy wheel looking to put this on a dd btw and yea i do have the supporting mods

    The Green is more of a match with the SZ49 as both have 49lb compressor wheels.

    If this is a DD, then I would say an EWG with the Green. The 55 is more on par with the FPRed and they have been known to be somewhat equivalent to the green unless race gas is used.

    You also have to factor in the massive lag the 55 will have.

    For a DD, I would pick the Green with the EWG, hands down.

    i think ima stick with the green but did you see the link to the thread on iwsti.com ? see the spool up time of the sz55 ?

    I thought the FPRed was 60-65lb?

    rotated > stock location.

    I had seen that thread but 2 things come to mind when I read through it:

    Why are his spool number so much better than the ones that Deadbolt lists?

    Is he using race gas? Nitrous? It doesn't tell you the supporting mods.

    I don't think I would go above a Green for a stock location turbo.

    thats is a good point i didnt think about that

    ok guys i am going to need a lil help from you .. i am thinking about getting the fpgreen turbo and was just kinda wondering what it will need in the way of supporting mods and also which would be a better way to go about the waste gate thing internal or get the external? i know that i am going to need the new fuel pump but will my stock 665cc injectors hold up or will i need to go bigger if so what size? i am also planing to cool it with the aps dr525 intercooler!

    those dyno charts are SICK. unfortunately I don't think i can trust em...at all.
    that big of a turbo spooling as fast as Stg 2...? BS

    I think they are pretty much the same turbo.

    I have heard some people say that FPs turbos are better than Deadbolt's, but Deadbolt's come with a lifetime rebuild.

    the dead bolt is also ball bearing and the green is not
