Whats A Stage 2 Nowadays!?

Haven't posted in a LONG time, but I have had this question for quite some time.
Everytime I watch a Subaru video( videos from streetfire, etc.) I see these WRX's with a mod list of Stage 2. Now considering the amount of vendors that offer their own kind of stage 2, how can you tell what exactly he has. I mean one stage 2 from a specific vendor consists of boltons and a turbo upgrade. Another stage 2 does not and has different parts from the previous mentioned vendor stage 2.

Stage 2 would be a full turbo back exhaust.

GREAT when done tastefully and in moderation. Some people love it. Some people hate it. And many people will try it once or twice to see how it feels. It's commonly thought of as taboo or gay, and usually attempted by a younger crowd. But bottom line, you won't know until you try it. Just don't let it turn out crappy!

Stage one normally relates to EM without a lot of physical change, but the OP is right that it's often muddled and not clear what changes that entails. It's best to list:

Cobb Stage 2

A quick visit to the company's website will indicate what changes went into that particular stage.

It depends but for the most part in general subaru community talk:

Stage1 = Engine Management

Stage2 = Engine Management + exhaust exhaust components (downpipe, catback, and sometimes uppipe).

Thats what I thought.
Vishnu throws ya off. Their stage 2 consists of ALOT more than exhaust and a tune. Vishnu has a stage 2 that adds a vf34, pink injectors and some toehr crap.

Oh well

THANKS for the replies

get rid of the boost controller unless you have an 02 and maybe even the intake

but without EM you are at stage 0

So why would you say to get rid of the mbc and intake? Like I said I have not had my WRX for quite some time, and have not read up alot on the newer WRX's? Whats different with the 02's like I had from the newer ones?

alright here you go
MBC: you get what is called full boost partial throttle which means that the turbo is throwing full pressure but the fuel system has not caught up, something to do with closed fuel loops and open fuel loops you will have to search about that, but the 02 wrx is able to handle a mbc without em but later years in order to use a mbc the car needs to be tuned for it, in short if you don't know what I am talking about and love your car take it off

intake: the car calculates how much air is entering the car by using the mas and the reading is dependent on the diameter of the piping at the mas, the problem with some aftermarket intakes is that the diameter is larger than stock so there is in reality more air entering the engine than what the car thinks so there is less fuel added leading to a lean condition which can be very bad, but some are alright though with a stock turbo a intake will add next to no power just turbo noise

LOL, I have PTFB as well on my GST. Just have to be careful. I remember in my 02 WRX, it was either full throttle or partial throttle without letting that boost gauge read anything past 0-5 psi.

I just thought maybe it was something different than that.
Thanks though!
