When you get it done post a how to. Im very interested.

I'll try it will be awhile in the making plus there will be some metal working that might be over some people's head like how I made the spray ring from aluminum piping

Gagging to hear your results. It's exactly what I'm looking to do. Buying the kit seems pricey when you look at the parts needed to make it.

alright since people keep asking, I have not finished it yet (no rush since it is winter and already 40 outside) but I will show the parts I have with ap. cost. the only parts I still need are a momentary switch that handles over 1 amp and a high pressure hose to run from the trunk to the engine but here you go:

the spray ring sitting on the intercooler (I think I will use cable ties to attach it)

the ring itself made from 1/2 inche OD by 1/4 ID aluminum tubing that I got for free but would cost at hardware store about $7 for 3 feet

a close up of the spray ring, these holes are angled downwards (not straight down so the middle of the IC can get some) and are all around the ring

these are the other parts: 3lb. CO2 bottle (ebay $30) attached with a paintball CO2 remote (ebay $15) and the overkill 250 psi selonoid valve (ebay $50) the bottle will be mounted in the trunk with a high pressure line running off the remote to the engine where I will fab a mounting bracket for the selonoid valve that will bolt to the IC mounting points and then that will attach to the spray ring

I will try and make the CO2 system and my homemade watersprayer work together so 1 button to 2 spray setups. sorry for the hijack from the original topic

the pic of the bar above this post is not going to cool like a normal one would , thats connected to both side of the connector . the co2 on his will have to make a journey all the way around the bar since its only feeding one side of it . think about it . you take his bar and use it on the intercooler say its 300 degrees so the end of his bar is going to be extremely hot and the temp drop on the end will be way less the using one that is fully connected . if its was fully connected the rear section would be cooler then the front section since it would be going around from both sides . his has to go all the way around the bar , meaning the co2 is heating up and when it gets to the end where its even hotter he won't get the drop of temps he is looking for .

why does it seem like this must be a new thing , lol bunch of noobs .

we did this on a friends turbo escort and it made one hell of a improvement , before he could hang with me when i was running 40 psi on a 16g with two 1150cc injectors back it up on the conquest tsi , after we did it on his car he was right beside me when he sprayed the intercooler .

for the ones who said you would have to have the valve near you , your so wrong . guess you never seen this ( the remote bottle opener )

That's the components that I was considering using. Kinda hard to get way out here though.

what you say is true and I wanted to do that but, my welding skills for steel with a mig are great but my skills with a tig and aluminum are nilch so I had to do it that way since I could not weld the loop together. I was thinking that by using smaller vent holes that then the air volume in will be higher then the air volume out so the pressure across the bar would be almost equal if that makes sense. But this is my first time making anything like this and just plugging away at it learning new stuff all the time, I just enjoy tinkering and was just showing what I have but thanks for the critique it gives me ideas that I may not have thought of myself

as for the max psi of the bottle, it is the same valve top as a paintball tank and I had it filled at ****'s so the pressure I would think would be about the same as with a normal paintball tank but I don't know the max psi

make sure the bottle doesn't explode from raising pressure from the gas inside on hot days . it will get hotter in a car then under someones arm

need to find out the mas psi for the bottle if its lower then the valve you may have some serious problems

Oh yeah. Didn't realise how much of a give away that would be. Should've said under the hood

New Zealand. If anyone wants to ship parts my way it would make things so much easier

true the warning lable on the bottle says not to have in an environment higher than 130 F and the trunk doesn't seem to get as hot as the cabin does in the summer but I am going to contact the manufacture to make sure thanks
