I was looking into these guys about 8 months ago.. They seem to make pretty good products, especially considering the price. The whole water/alkie/meth thing intrigues me and scares me. I think I may get tuned without it, then try it as an additional safety net. I don't want to tune FOR it, because if it goes then your fackedded.

THERE WE GO. I thought somebody on here was running it that I liked the results of. I am thinking i really can't go wrong. It's almost 200 less than most other alky kits and a lot of people like it. Did you tune your utec to fire it off as a secondary solenoid or did you just use the boost pressure thing it comes with and tune accordingly on your UTEC for the higher load collumns when you're past that boost setting?

I just used the boost pressure trigger in the UTEC parameters...you'd need a super quick acting solenoid to control the spare Map solenoid...

Jorge tuned my setup but it goes like this:

    - trigger alky at desired pressure
    - wait for slight increase in AFR
    - pull fuel increasingly thru the load columns
    - add timing & boost in same fashion...

mine was dynoed initially to trigger at 12psi, after getting it out on the highway a few times it knocked during 3rd gear down shifts, fuel was being pulled before alky was being supplied. I lowered the trigger to 10psi, no issues now...

Go for it man, it's so simple to do and meth and water is cheap! Get a good tune with it tho. It's like race gas on demand, and cooling mist has one of the best pumps (besides aquamist). I just saw the stage one kit on ebay for like 215. This is next on my list of to-do's along with EWG...

so you set the boost pressure trigger in the UTEC parameters AND you also set the adjustable boost pressure switch that the kit comes with to the set boost level? What all needs to be connected to the UTEC for it to know what to fire? And lastly, do you have any maps of alky when you were on the 30 that I could use as guidelines at all?

aquamist isn't cheap, but its good.

they even make a direct-port water injection kit.

I modeled my IC sprayer on their kit.

sorry, I never had alky with the VF30...Jorge added around 5.5 degrees of timing in the 100% column if that help & tuned it to approx. 12:1 AFR...

just run the UTEC or just run the pressure switch...not both..

here's the diagram I made up when I installed mine, the arming switch was another fog light switch I bought from a forum member....you need to be able to disconnect the alky w/ a regular pump gas map, an arming switch allow that...
