I just got a 2009 wrx about a week ago. It came with a Cobb Accessport. What would be the first best couple mods to put on to achieve the best hp without spending too much money. Thanks!
i take it youve flashed to stage 1? if so, at this point youre going to spend some cash seeing as they next plausible step would be stage 2, which requires a downpipe. you can find cheap used ones via the FS forum here and NASIOC. ive purchased 90% of my ish from there.
try not to be lured into an intake or cat back exhaust, unless thats what you really want. the powerrice ratio is not commensurate. downpipe is the next best thing.
No, in that case you would need to flash the stage 2 map for that particular intake. I believe Cobb only has maps for your car for the stock intake, their SF intake, and the AEM CAI.. if you were to use a different intake it would be a good idea to get a custom tune for it. Same goes for other mods, you will need a custom tune for your parts once you go beyond what is offered in the OTS maps.
If you take a look at the COBB Tuning website, they have all the off the shelf maps listed along with notes for each one that tells you which mods are compatible with them.
If you go to their website you can answer some questions and it'll pop up with the OTS tune for the equipmet you have installed. Just try to stay away from catless downpipes and if you are looking only to use OTS maps, be sure to grab an intake that they support.
Some other good inexpensive mods are shifter bushings and swaybars.
