    Stage 3

    Hi!!
Looking to get some input about upgrading my inter cooler. What I'm looking for is a top mount that won't hit my grimspeed heat shield. Or kinks hoses. What are others using. My goal is to get to stage 3, but keep car drive able eveyday. Any help would be great.

Process West TMIC. IMO, best aftermarket top mount on the market. Many people run it and love it. Just know, that to utilize an aftermarket intercooler you will need a tune. So you would be better off and save money on tuning if you do other upgrades at the same time. Like a downpipe(or full turbo-back exhaust), intake, and an upgraded BPV. However you may already have these mods, in which you did not specify in your OP.

Also, just a FYI. For more responses you need to post this in the appropiate area. Should be in the 'engine modification' sub-forum.

Thanks for reply Maniac. I reported in engine mod forum.
Right now I'm running a Cobb catted DP. An Invidia N1 exhaust Cobb SF intake, Cobb tuner with custom pro tuned map from Brentuning.

Ok, thanks for clarifying your current mods. If I were you and you wanted to upgrade you IC. Go with the process west TMIC along with the Forge BPV. The stock plastic bpv has been known to fail at stage 2 boost levels. Those 2 mods plus a tune and you will be on your way good sir.

ETS and Process West are great quality TMIC's. You'll want to look into getting an aftermarket BPV as well. Forge is a good unit. At this point, you are going to want larger injectors (ID 1000cc), and fuel pump, as well as a new EBCS would be a good idea. And of course a re-tune

I am no pro...and very newb...

However, do give Mishimoto a look see. They do make a nice product and just finished R&D for a TMIC for 08+ Impreza.

They have good pricing and pretty nice construction with a focus on fitment.

I also have the exact same mods as you...except I don't yet have a professional tune.

I am waiting on the Mishimoto unit. I was impressed with the R&D. It is worth a look at least before you spend your hard earned dough.

I am NOT trying to detract from Process West, Perrin or other TMIC's. They are proven top performers.

I did check out Mishimoto TMIC. I used to manage a team of builders in a factory, I learned a lot about design and quality working with engineers. Judging by its design and materials the Mishimoto TMIC just does not do it for me. The process west Part #: PRW PWTMIC07 is a far superior constructed unit, and at only $200 difference it's form and function have impressed me. I do appreciate the suggestion. Having other users weigh in is always helpful. And Blammo get a protune especially if you have a Cobb AP. You will see a huge difference in WHP and Torque. Hopefully you have someone good nearby.

Check out the grimmspeed TMIC too. Itll be out soon. Finishing it now.
That said, my tuner doesnt like the pwest for the cost. He says he tuned the fms replica to more than the pwest. For half the cost.

Anyways youll need the tmic, grimmspeed ebcs, one step colder plugs, dw65c fuel pump, and a bpv, check out synapse synchronic diverter valve. Wonderful unit
