This is a discussion on N1 vs Q300 opinions within the Engine Modifications forums, part of the Tech & Modifying & General Repairs category; Does anyone know why the Q300 is significantly more expensive? Sound preference and muffler style can't seriously be the difference ...

    N1 vs Q300 opinions

Does anyone know why the Q300 is significantly more expensive?
Sound preference and muffler style can't seriously be the difference in ~$500~ can it?

Yes I would love to stay quad tip, and be a little more silent than the N1, but as it stands, I am currently leaning towards the N1.

After tuned, does the Q300 make more power comparatively speaking?
I'm sure this has been discussed before. A link would suffice.
    Thank you.

Hey I have the same car as you and I was thinking the same thing. I ended up gong with the dual N1 just because after awhile of looking at them I liked the looks of the N1 more but that was just my opinion. Also cat-backs dont incress the power just the sound that come from the car.

    Power difference is negligible.

    Hahahahaahhah!!!!

N1 Street w/dual Ti burnt tips! FTW!!! I love mine. Coupled with the Cobb catted DP, best money spent on my car so far. AP was a real nice buy too!!!!

Keep in mind, there are two versions of N1 exhaust. Street and Race, and they do NOT sound the same. I have heard both.

How much louder would you say the Dual N1 Race is vs. the Street version?

Is the N1 louder than the Perrin catback?

The N1 is one of the loudest exhausts you can purchase short of a straight-pipe. In must jurisdictions, the N1 will be illegal (violation of sound code), garner LEO attention, and potentially cost the owner in accrued fines. As a driver, you might enjoy the sound or you might completely despise the drone (I know I fit into the latter category) depending on the person. One thing is for certain, your neighbors will hate you and most other drivers on the road will think poorly of you. Depends on your priorities really.

Ya, I don't want anything too loud...Come to think of it my Perrin catback and Invidia catted DP already sound decently loud and deep.

I think it's my ricer roots trying to climb out every now and then!

The N1 is louder than the Perrin, but not by a whole lot. I have the dual N1, and I dont find it obnoxious. Truth be told, the only real done I get is on the interstate going 75. But cruising in 45 and 55 it's not an issue.

I love the tone, it's one of the deepest I've heard personally. It's loud when you want it, and you can keep it more reserved when you want.

To go as far too say neighbors will hate you and other drivers as well is a little...well I can't think of the right term. Not everyone drives WOT all the time or or gears down keeping a high rpm.

You want cheap and quad tips?
Tsudo catback for the sedan. Not sure if you have a sedan or not.
Just bought mine, fitment is spot on. Deep at idle and sounds great through the powerband. Reminds me of my GTO. 470 shipped.

I found a lightly used Q300 TT on Craig's for $600. I'm gonna see if I can talk him down a tad and maybe take a look in person.
