    Downpipe and intake question

    Hello everybody!

So, I'm starting to mod my car, I'm going stage 2.

As I said in another thread, I'm traveling to the USA and I'm going to buy most of my parts there.

But, what I wonder is this: everyone says that I need a tune after a downpipe and after a intake, but the problem is that I'm gonna need to take the car a few miles from the place where I'm gonna install the downpipe/intake to the pro tune.

So, after the installation, I will need to take the car for about a 40-50 miles trip to get to the tuner.

My question is, is this ok? Or should I take the car to the tuner on a truck or something? I think I'm exaggerating a bit, but I just want to be sure because anywhere I read all I find is: "you should tune it right after the installation"

Thanks already everybody for the help!

It's not the best option- but you can drive it there. Just stay out of boost. Don't drive aggressively. Really baby it

Also if you are overly concerned a pro-tune shop will send you a limp map to install on your car for the drive. That's assuming you have a method of loading a tune on your car.

Just drive it like break in. Even with mild boost it won't explode instantly. You are just chancing it might be lean in boost. You will be surely tempted, but go easy and you will be fine as the others said.

Thanks a lot everybody for the help!!

I'm gonna see how much is it going to cost to get the car towed, if it is too expensive I'll drive it "babyly", if not, the car will be towed

    Again, thanks for the help!

Not at all worth towing the car, IMHO. Towing has risks too.

You could always see if your tuner will install the parts for you.
If your tuner uses an AccessPort just install the Cobb stage 2 map for the drive.
