Just a question about turbos overpriced or worth the cake?

Which one would you pick between a Blouch 440XT Turbocharger 7cm2 nozzle or TD06 20G compressor is paired with the Mitsubishi TD05H high flow turbine in 7cm2 nozzle for my 2014 WRX with perrin tmic and turbo back exhaust and headers. Theres a $400.00 difference the 440xt seems overpriced.

I would go with Blouch for stock location. They have proven performance and reliability.

I bought an inexpensive ball bearing 20g once. I think it was $1150 from Modern Automotive Performance.. it spooled nice and made good power, but the seals went out and it started spraying oil within two months of owning it.

This is the one my tuner suggested and we are going to order it.

They are both built off of a Mitsu center housing, so from that standpoint they are very similar, however that is where the similarities likely end.

You are likely paying the premium with the Blouch for a few things:

    1) Bolt on compatibility (worth a few extra bucks all day)
    a) exhaust housing options
    b) wheel options
    2) Blouche spec wheels (more flow = more powar!)
    3) A reputable builder and customer support team (always good)

However, I do want to say that I have never run either of these turboes and can't give any first hand experience. If I recall correctly from my Mitsu days, a 20G hooked up to a 4G63 was good for something around 400 hp with supporting mods (cams, fuel, exhaust/intake, custom tuning etc). From the Blouch website, it looks like they have done a little work to that compressor for some more airflow. What you do is ultimately up to you.
