    will i need a tune

    OK guys, finally installed an up pipe. Now i've got some headers and a down pipe. will i have to have a tune or not if i install these to complete the exhaust. Mods are cat back with up pipe and AEM cold air intake

    Yup! Any time you mess with the up pipe/down pipe you should really tune the car. Also, some intakes require a tune as well. Hope this helps!

    Headers, intake, downpipe all require a tune. But it depends on your year as to whether you can get away without a tune. Either way you won't see any power benefits without a tune.

    i've got a 2002 wrx invidia up pipe - already installed- and invidia down pipe down pipe and agency power header

    On the 2002, only the header will require a tune.

    i've heard a lot about Cobb Tuning. will their tuner support and tune safely for something in the 400 plus hp range. just planning ahead

    Go to their site and look at their map notes. They support parts, not outputs in HP.

    Meanwhile you can sell the header and intake and save that money at least. Or keep the parts on a shelf until you decide to go much further with the car.

    With the Subaru intake and header you need nothing else; if you decide to go with the header -- and most likely the intake -- you will need a tune yet may not see gains significantly different to those you'd see without the intake or headers if you calculate bang/buck.
