If your car is not making boost at all, I'd not mash the accelerator any more. The next step would be to take it to the shop and have the shop run a vac/boost leak test (with smoke is the best method). You can do this yourself, but it sounds like you might be a bit in over your head. Also, I would take a look at your fuel trims to see if you have a gross leak during CL fueling.

    +1.

I'd say that something was not put back together 100% correctly on the intake tract, even if it is just a boost leak somewhere or the MAF is slightly out of position. The OTS map would be one of the last things I blame in this situation.

I do get some boost just not much. ....I have to really step on it. .. my car will crawl til 4k rpm an then a lil boost will kick in. .. most times under 5lbs psi...

anything under 4k an it kicks in so little that it barely brings the gauge up above the vacuum....

it used to be so responsive an quick an give good boost. ... I'll check all those ideas guys thank you

Is your boost guage and cobb showing the same peak boost? It sounds like a boost leak or your wastegate is staying open. Only odd thing is that normally a boost leak will cause the car to stumble a bit.

If the leak is significant, the flow will be very consistent and CL fueling will be able to pull in the trims.

to the OP... you said you were monitoring boost in 1st and 2nd gear. Try a 3rd gear pull, full boost should happen 3000-3600 rpm. In 1st gear there wont be enough load on the engine to get highest boost.

i want to thank everyone who replied....you all were right...i took it into subaru and they discovered a few things. they fixed it and its back to normal. however...now i got a new question..

i reinstalled my stage 1 91+sf from cobb...my car feels good.,.....however it will not go past 14lbs psi....it should go higher....and here is the kicker...it hits that 14lbs at 5k rpm....with 2k rpm left it doesnt give anymore boost....just stays there...

can anyone give any food for thought on why my boost is stopping short and how i can get my psi to hit up in the 17 range like its supposed too? thank you

What gear are you in when hitting 14? If you havent tried already, try doing the pull in 3rd gear as this is where you will hit your peak boost. Sorry if this has already been mentioned.

Are you in Colorado right now when trying this? You're much higher above sea level there so boost won't be as high.

    Yep. Mikie nailed it.

The turbocharger has a specific efficiency range to which the map is calibrated. For example, 17 PSI is 2.15:1 Pressure Ratio at sea level (compressor outlet: compressor inlet). The 17 PSI is actually measured at the MAP sensor, so this does not really represent the pressure ratio, but you understand my point for illustration.

Now, in Denver, CO (for example), the elevation is roughly 1 mile -- 5280 feet. At this altitude, the atmospheric pressure would be [typically] around 12.1 PSI compared to 14.7 PSI at sea level. Therefore, at the same PR of 2.15:1 your target boost is 13.92 PSI corrected for altitude. Is this what you're seeing?
