The invidia N1 is a great exhaust. Im more of a q300 fan myself, but you cant go wrong with anything invidia. I actually just got done installing an invidia catted DP and an invidia q300 catback on my wrx and the fitment was amazing. I also had invidia exhaust on my 06 wrx back in the day. There are other great companies out there. (i.e. perrin, nameless, cobb, turboxs, etc.) But invidia has the best sound in my opinion.

Welcome to ClubWRX by the way! Post up some pics!

I've had my n1 race for a while now. Sounds great. Doesn't really drone. I also don't think it's as loud as people claim it is

It is a lot louder, measured my friend's with a dB meter. But every one is different with what they like. I personally think it's the top range of loudness for me. I prefer somewhere in the middle. A little louder than the q300, a little softer than the regular n1.

I very much beg to differ. My N1 Race was INSUFFERABLY loud and droned beyond all belief. I do believe that wagons/hatches drone more than sedans however.

Like 90 dB. Depending on rpm and engine load. It's probably worse in a wagon like zax said. It's enough that you have to speak up to have a conversation. Imagine a running 2 stroke lawnmower in your back seat lol...maybe not that, but you get the point.

Haha yea I get your point. So what else is a good choice then.Definetly don't want something too loud but I love the look Invidia n1 like I hear the cobb is really nice and not too loud I just don't like the look of the tip or muffler.

If you like an n1 style but want the quieter models, find one with an additional resonator in the midpipe. Like the Invidia n1 street. Those aren't really all that loud in my opinion. Best thing would be to try and hear some in person. See if you can't go to a local meet and see what everyone is running.

You can usually tell what is loud and what isn't. quietest to loudest is usually Large baffled mufflers, large straight through muffler, n1 style. Models with resonators in the midpipe can be quieter and take away more unwanted frequencies giving a "better" sounding exhaust.

What sounds good is subjective though. Go to some local meets!

It's also worth mentioning that the N1 has the angled "fart can" look... this will likely garner negative attention for LEO.

Also, I highly doubt the N1 is 90 dB at WOT... the Cobb is 95 dB at WOT and is considerably quieter than the N1 street or race.
