    The whoooooosh sound

Hey all. I've read a lot about the BOV's and what they can do so a Subaru motor. Mind you this is my first Subaru so sorry to the experienced if this sounds stupid. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to my 2014 WRX to get the whooosh sound without a BOV or a Cobb intake and V3. I want to try and keep it as stock as possible. Thanks all!

Intake Silencer delete. But you will have to remove the intake system and hack it up.

    You basically said:

I want something, but dont want to do anything to get what I want.

You could get one of those electronic blow off valve noise makers.

Pretty sure there isn't an equivalent to the intake silencer delete for the 3rd gens, yeah.

Im not saying I want to not do anything to get what I want. Im just looking for a safer/cheaper way to get what I want. I dont want to chance voiding my warranty and I def dont want to spend 1100 for the intake and v3 if I can get what Im trying to do easier.. I have my first child on the way due Aug and it was just something I was interested in trying to do.. If its not possible then no big deal. Just figured I'd ask people that have more experience with Subi's than I do..

There is a mod to get woosh sounds for the new gens. You have to cut a hole in the box IIRC. There's a thread on it somewhere. I'll try to find it

I'm sure if you cut a hole in the airbox your warranty claim would most likely be denied since it would be messing with afr

Heres a straight answer. Anything you hack or cut, anything you replace with aftermarket has a chance of voiding your warranty if the dealer finds out your mod caused an issue. Now what you do is totally up to you. How bad do you want your warranty? How bad do you want your wooosh sound?

You could probably get a used tactrix cable and intake and open source for under 400 combined, maybe less depending on which intake. Definitely a better option than hacking away pieces of the stock system. Plus it's a lot easier to revert all back to stock.
