You could look around on the forums for a used stock dp cuz I know for a fact that you probably wont pass emissions with a hiflow cat. That's the main reason I went catless no reason to spend the extra 200$ on a hi flow catted dp when it wont do what it claims.
That's a good point. I have a friend that works at Subaru here in PA and he is going to check and see if a HF pipe would most likely pass or fail. This is so dumb since the county next to me doesn't care if you pass emissions.

Yes I know where I live personally I cannot pass emission I live in Colorado and they do a sniffer test here. Some people can pass emissions with a hi flow cat I know I cannot tho.

What pipe is on your car now? I assume that ability to pass the test would depend on the pipe and the construction of the cat.

    here's your specific emissions requirements:
    4
    EMISSIONS INSPECTION CHANGES
    - NEW AREAS -
    South Central Region
    (Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin,
    Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh,
    Northampton and York counties)
When will the South Central Region be re
quired to begin an emissions inspection
    program?
Emissions inspections in the South Centra
l Region will be phased in according to the
    following schedule:

    December 2003...Cumberland, Dauphin

    January 2004...Berks,
    Lehigh, Northampton

    February 2004...Lancaster, Lebanon, York
What type of emissions inspection will be
required in the South Central Region?
    Beginning in December 2003:

Most 1996 and newer model-year vehicles
will be required to have an OBD I/M
Check and a Gas Cap Test performed annually.

    Most 1975-1995 model-year vehicles wi
ll be required to have a Gas Cap Test
and a Visual Anti-Tampering Check performed annually.

So, you just need to fix the OBDII code, and make sure you have a gascap, and you're good!

    Sinister:

I actually just looked up the same information that you did! I found that they only do the onboard diagnostics and gas cap...I was told before that they sniff the car too. Guess that was a load of crap. I appreciate you looking that up for me!

In regards to the catless up pipe...does anyone have any suggestions for a good one? Would it be worth it to just hollow out the stock one?

    Good stuff dude!

Personally I only recommend the grimmspeed up pipe.

I don't recommend gutting the old one for 3 reasons.
First, if you don't get everything out... Something can break loose and hit the turbo. Then bye bye turbo.
Second: if you damage the pipe, you might develop an exhaust leak later.
Third, and the most important. It is dangerous to your health.

All very good points. I guess when I am looking to spend the money on the down pipe and the AP...another $200 is well worth it. Especially if it will prevent me from having to replace the turbo. With my luck I would spend the money and not get the up pipe and 200 miles after I installed everything else...the turbo would go.
