    TMIC Question

I have heard in the past that older('02-'05) STI TMIC's can be mounted(With some modding) to the WRX's giving a small reduction to the Charge temp. Is this possible for someone like myself who has access to a STI TMIC for a 2010 WRX, to do the same? I have heard mixed reviews. Some say yes it will bolt up with a bracket adjustment, some say NFG because the turbo mount is diffrent on the newer STI's.

Can someone confirm this for me?

If youre trying to put a '08+ STi TMIC on a pre '07 WRX..not happening. different mounts, different layout, need to make a 08+ hood work on yours or somehow make yours work... Putting a 02-07 STi onto an 02-07 WRX shouldnt be an issue. youll need an STi scoop with an STi splitter, and a tune, but everything should bolt right up otherwise.

Not even close. The 2008+ STi TMIC is the same mounting as the 2002-2007 WRX. You are thinking of the 2008+ WRX.

Not. Probably wouldn't be worth it for the amount of cooling anyway. It's a larger capacity, yeah, but still an inefficient design compared to nicer aftermarket bar and plate designs.

Not even that much larger capacity either. The rule of thumb I was given was not even push the timing on my tune and just use the STI intercooler as an extra buffer against the crappy 92 gas we have.

Sold it to a local NASIOC guy. It officially jumped the shark and took its STIs with it.
