    Exclamation Open up a '13 wrx engine? requesting all advice and opinions

    Since i bought my wrx a year ago i haven't modified my car yet due to my dilemma . i don't want to waste money taking unnecessary steps. i talk to some shop(4 to be exact) one shop said to buy the crawford 2.7l boxer engine and build from that, another said to buy an sit engine and build, and the last shop said i didn't have to buy another engine just use the one i have and open it up. Mind you i told these shops my ultimate goal is 750-1000hp while keeping the stock look. so i would like to build an engine that is capable of that but not all at once. first build towards 500hp then 600hp and etc… just fyi this car is for dd and occasion track.

    hell yea. my dad done it. why can't i? doesn't mean ill use all hp in a city plus i said slowly build it towards that. also have a friend who drives 900 hp bug eye dd

    Usually anytime you quadruple the amount of HP out of a car you lose just a bit of reliability, but I am interested in seeing your build

    yes i know i lose reliability as if i would keep it stock. many reason why I'm asking for opinions on how to build it. various mechanics give me other routes to attack this subject. when i gave them my checklist which i stated some in my paragraph.

    The other day... I caught a 4' long river trout. The thing was gorgeous. It had teeth like a pike. I thought it would break my rod, so I just grabbed a stick and speared it.

    Dude... ya aren't gonna waste money on your way to 750hp. You'll waste money in depreciation of your car. You'll waste money repairing everything that breaks once you get there. The financial ontaking for a semi-reliable subaru at even 500whp is absurd compared to the purchase price of the car.

    Go get a GTR, in my mind. It'll be cheaper in the short run and the long run... Not to mention it won't break nearly as often at those power levels.

    How do people think a <3L engine that packs 750hp can be reliable or fun to drive? I don't get it. If you do hit 750 hp... its gonna take redline to get your terribly mismatched turbo to hit any form of efficiency. Get a bigger engine if you want that much hp.

    Personally I'd buy a short block and go from there, seeing that you want to customize the whole way it would save you time from having to pull the engine everytime you get a mod.

    I've asked crawford performance ,amr and etc. they said it isn't impossible just a lot of $$$. DOnt be closed minded about it. theres a lot of 700-1400hp subarus out there.
