    Why is it that the Cobb SF intake (or other pod filters) create "Increased Induction Sound"?

    Makes the turbo sound louder. All Aftermarket intakes will do that

    You are removing the factory box with an open filter hence, you hear the turbo spooling up along with the blow off valve.

    Just as an FYI - if you install an intake, you must tune your car.

    Open filter element. Nothing stopping the sound from escaping. I imagine with the airbox, it's not as loud as without though.

    Cutting down on induction noise was also a consideration when designing the stock intake system.

    It's the only reason to get one if the car is stock(ish). These cars don't benefit from intakes like most others.
