    06 2.5i first mods

I have had an 06 4 door 2.5i for a few years and its starting to feel old. I have almost no experience with tuning cars but I need to start somewhere. What should be my first mods? I'm guessing I should start with a better intake and headers.

On a non-turbo car I would start with suspension and braking mods.

You aren't likely to see very much gain in the power department. Not enough to sink money into it at least.

If I replaced the stock manifold with a set of headers there would't be any performance benefit?

Power mods on that car wouldn't be worth the time or money. Everyone I've seen go down that road regrets it and ends up buying a WRX or STi, or can no longer afford to upgrade to the WRX or STi because they've sunk so much money into making it marginally more powerful.

Take it from others and do other things.

I mean sure, there would be some benefit from doing that. Just not enough to make it worth it in my opinion. If that is the mod path you had in mind then by all means go for it. It is your money and car in the end.

Suspension and braking mods can go a long way into making the car more fun to drive. Especially in a N/A car. Heck even in turbo cars I would always recommend handling mods be done first.

Performance aside, would a new exhaust, headers, and intake do anything for gas milage or resale value?

Mods in general do nothing for resale value. Some would argue they decrease value.

Gas mileage could definitely benefit but, only slightly. What would really benefit is the sound she makes

For what it's worth... my set of stiff swaybars is both my favorite mod to my WRX and does more to make it feel fast than anything else I've done to it (including power mods).
