What do I need to replace the top-mount intercooler?

    Hello,

I purchased my 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX, from the uncle..He specifically told me that I need a top-mount inter cooler because it was damaged.. (I think It was stolen.)

I looked on eBay and I see several OEM top mounts ranging from $60-$300... And I looked at my car, and all there is...is the turbo, a big piece of black plastic, and a hose coming from the engine.

I looked at the intercoolers on eBay, and it's just the intercooler with the two black pieces on each side. They're $60 used, and I feel like I'm missing something else, because a shop told me it costs around $300 for one.

I'm guessing I need a BPV and such? I'm a total newbie as a lot of you guys know through my stupidity threads before. I just need a little help, thanks so much!

So what exactly do I need? The Hoses? The BPV? The Intercooler?

A pic would really help here. Being able to see what is actually in your engine bay and what is missing will make things a bit clearer.

Yep, just post a pic of your engine bay and we can tell you what you're missing.

If you just need the IC and nothing else, an oem one should run you about $300. They are easy to install as well. Beware when threading the bolts into the turbo as it is aluminum and your steel bolts will shred the threads.

Also, If you have the money and are going to be modifying you might want to splurge for the ProcessWest IC. They are really popular around here.

If you are in need of a stock IC, I can sell you mine. Let me know.

Right off the bat, I'd say a turbo heat heat and the IC. I'm a noob so I'll let someone else continue

    Okay so
    -Heat Shield
    -Intercooler (Obviously)
    -BPV
    -Possibly Tubing?

    Is that basically all?

While the intercooler is off, I'd go ahead and replace that throttle body hose too or at least take off the rubber end pieces.

Most of us have had problems with the stock one blowing off, even at stock boost.
