    02 wrx rod knock

I recently picked up my first wrx knowing it had a rod knock to begin with. Just wanna know what I can do to help my motor last longer. I will eventually swap the motor all together but just hoping it will last me a year.

If you're certain it is rod knock, then there's not much you can do from what I understand. You won't get a whole year. And when it breaks loose it'll be totally inoperable, likely stuck out on the side of the road on your way to something very important.

When it's starts knocking pretty noticeably, you have maybe a few hundred miles left. Although, it's entirely too unpredictable to give you a number.
