    Just installed FMS FMIC Questions

As the title states I just installed my FMS FMIC on my 2013 wrx. Everything fits well and looks good. Took the car out for a quick drive to make sure no leaks and I blew the stock throttle body pipe off fairly quickly. Threw that back on and made sure to snug it alot tighter then it was before. Everything runs fine now but there is a faint whistle sound like a leak. My question is for anyone who has this FMIC or helped someone install one. Did you do anything to the stock throttle body pipe such as I read that you need to take the end caps off or something along those lines. I already ordered a Gimmick Motorsports throttle body pipe but that wont be in for a week. Im just trying to do something to stop the whistle sound and something to hold me over until the new one comes in. Is there anything I could do to check for leaks in the piping along the couplings.

Not 100% sure but it sounds like the drivers side which is where the throttle body hose is located. Im honestly thinking its that but obviously not sure. Ive gone through a checked all other clamps and everything is lined up correctly and tightened.

I had 2 leaks when I first did mine, one off the turbo and one at the coupler that is right next to the stock coolant overflow. I did not use the stock throttle body hose on mine though, sounds to me like that's all it is though. You can build a boost leak detector if you happen to have an air compressor to use though, just search for it on the forums. Really easy and cheap to build one

I wonder if that would be my issue. Im running a Turbosmart plumb BPV. Im wondering if hes running the same. Im also running an external wastegate but I doubt thats having any play in this.

You could even use a bicycle pump to inflate the boost detector if you decide to put one together.

If its just a small leak I wouldn't think it would be that big of a deal if you drive it lightly. Will just run rich. I would reset the ecu once you get the new throttle body hose thiugh

    Bump.

Seriously. You have a tuner. Why not ask his advice? Furthermore, if you suspect a vac leak or a boost leak, the first thing I'd do is pull up your LV and/or datalog.

Was waiting for tuner to reply. He suggested changing the stock clamp to a t-bolt clamp. I had one extra from the FMIC install and threw it on. Seems to not have changed anything. Just gonna wait til I get the new throttle body hose and build myself a boost leak tester. Im pretty sure the throttle body hose is my problem.
