    Turbo Supporting Mods

So I'm thinking my next step in WRX modification will be a bigger turbocharger. Now my questions about supporting mods begin. I'm thinking of upgrading to the vh39(?) so my mods would include 600cc injectors, an STi intercooler takeoff or Godspeed, and a Walbro fuel pump. What's everyone's opinions of those mods? I'm stage 2 right now so I have a 3'' turboback, tune, and intake (i know that's not needed). Also going to heat wrap my downpipe because I hear that's good.

Any and all constructive advice welcome. Thanks!

    I think you mean a used vf39?

STi intercooler isn't much better than stock.. and Godspeed is worse than stock. The cheapest TMIC I would consider is the TurboXS unit, but make sure you get a genuine one, not a knock off (like the Godspeed). Process West makes an excellent TMIC that comes with the necessary splitter.

What 600cc injectors are you thinking about getting?

Along with those things, I would get a 3-port EBCS, and obviously you're going to need a professional tune immediately upon installing the parts.

Yes that is what I meant thanks. It will be a good while before I get all of that purchased and added but between now and then I'm studying up big time. Thanks for the intercooler advice and I was looking at a set of injectors from rallysportdirect and the brand is escaping me right now. Trying to draw out a budget right now so I can get a plan rolling. Would you suggest putting all of that on including the turbocharger at one time? Save tuning cost I assume.

Cobb has a vf39 map. That would dictate you injector choice or if you get a pro-tune ask the tuner what injector size they would recommend/be comfortable tuning with. An ebcs 3 port would be a good idea along with a mbc, ask your tuner about their preference with these items too. Instead of wrapping the downpipe it might be more beneficial to wrap the headers/up-pipe instead. Or ceramic coat them.

I wouldn't use an OTS map for a turbo swap, but I guess some people do.

It would be best to wrap headers, uppipe, AND downpipe.. and get a turbo blanket.

Thanks guys. Turbo blanket and downpipe wrap will be soon. When I get a little more time I will do the uppipe and headers.
