    2011 WRX Stage 1 + Cobb Intake

Is it worth it to get protuned with just this upgrade or wait for stage 2. I'm considering this because I do not know how long I am going to wait until I can go stage 2. I will most likely wait until my bumper-to-bumper warranty has expired in December. Any experience will dealers with an intake and DP installed? I know " don't mod if your not willing to lose your warranty" I know all of this. Just looking for some personal experiences.

Yep. I think he wants to see if it will be beneficial and safe for you...and offer you some tips

I'd trust what EJ has to say.

I'd be happy to look at them. Post them in this thread...

I can assure you that it would absolutely benefit you to get protuned, as you'll have a map designed for your car vs a generic one-size-fits-all one. It will be able to be more fine-tuned for your engine and your gasoline. Whether or not I'd bother spending the money on it is another story. If the car takes the map well, I'd just leave it as-is; if the car doesn't like the map for some reason, I'd consider going a custom tune route.

Really, 4-4.5K is more than enough to verify the car is safe. You don't need to drive at completely asinine speeds.

Affirmative, was just providing some humor. No internet access on my laptop. Will put up when I can.

I talked to a few tuners and shops about getting protuned with minimal mods. The consensus I got was that yes it will run better, but even they said it wasn't really worth the money until you got at least a downpipe.

from what i've read the stock intake is good to 350hp i believe so i dont know if you'd see much gain from that. a downpipe would definitely make a difference tho!
