I definitely need a BPV and stress NEED!

I can hear the thing fluttering now even without being at WOT. It's annoying and a friend of mine also heard it (I wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy). It's bad though. I know the forge seems to be the main one to get, is there a cheaper one by chance that will get the job done until then that has good reviews?

thanks, appreciate the offer anyway. Doesn't matter to me, i'm peaking around 20.5 lbs... but the sound just makes me cringe. It's a very annoying sound and can't be good for the car.

Some tell me they haven't had a problem with their stocker, others have said they had leaks at 16-17 psi. I guess it all depends.

Why would you make a higher HP motor and then use a crap plastic BPV? I don't get it. It's the same as went the Evo's had plastic up to 05 and then went with the metal I believe in 06 IIRC, though it's been a while since I sold my 06 RS.

GD stockers can handle upwards of 21-22psi reliably. But as it gets higher, you have more chance to leak.

so is the forge just the best one for the money then? I know they aren't extremely expensive, and I guess buying a cheaper one and then a better one later just equates to more money in the long run anyway.

Wow that's quite a bit of boost for a stage 2 tune...Either way, I think your last post hits it well (disclaimer that I don't have an aftermarket BPV). Why put something in your engine that you have to worry about when you can just spend a small amount of extra money to get something that's good quality. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for.

Forge is widely regarded as being very good quality.

I'm at 20.5 at Stage 2 on my STI...
