What's the deal with an AccessFLASH?

Being on somewhat of a low budget atm i spoke with cobb (want to go stage 2 with a catless dp and 3 port) and they suggested considering an accessflash rather than getting AP + protune. they said it is using cobbs software and everything but i dont have an accessport and i'll be permanently at whatever I flash my car for. Anyone wanna shed some light on the subject? 2013 wrx sedan

Introducing AccessFLASH - An alternative to Open Source- Only at COBB Retail stores! - NASIOC

I guess Cobb now offers a way for their flagship shops to flash an ECU sans Accessport, much in the same way OpenSource works. You basically only pay the $395 for a regular protune, but don't have to pay $595 for the Accessport.

So if you want a custom tune but don't care about datalogging or swap maps, I guess it's an option. I'd want to datalog personally, but since the map is fully compatible with an AP later, I guess you could always upgrade...

Thats awesome. I live right near their store in fountain valley CA. I could basically go there and get the same tune I would get with an AP but just flashed directly to my car?
