Absolutely, maybe. It will hold up no question, unless it doesn't. Perhaps.

Fuel, mapping, use patterns past, current, and future, fatigue, wear levels past and current, and just plain luck will influence the outcome. The general answer is "yes if you do it right and don't drive it at all." The more you deviate from those restrictions, the more the answer becomes what I've stated caterogically above.

This is meant to be decidedly ambigious.

Yes. You must have your supporting mods and a proper tune in order though to go with it. Otherwise a 16G-xt would be a very good addition.

testes1010 had a 20G on 93+meth with stock motor/tranny when he sold it
Donkey had a 16G-XT and an 18G on his '02 with the stock motor/tranny when he sold it
zax has a 17G on his car and it hasn't blown up

It can be done. The health of the motor and the tune will be the two biggest determining factors.

The only reason I was asking if the EJ205 would hold up under healthy conditions is so then all I have to worry bout is the transmission when the time comes.

Modifications only open doors to worries, never leaves them closed. If you want a worry free car, leave it stock. If you want to modify, well, you pay to play. In more ways than just financially.
