STi Top Mount on '06 WRX

I bought an STi top mount a couple months ago and am just getting around to putting it on (or trying at least). I was told, and read online that it would be a direct bolt on for my '06; however when I went to put it on, the holes for the bolts on the side don't line up and the corner hit the wastegate nipple. I snapped a few pictures to help explain... I don't know if I was misled or if I am doing something wrong.

I do not believe you have an OEM STI intercooler there my friend...... at least not an 04-07.

The 04-07 STI intercoolers ARE a direct fit. (minus the hood scoop splitter and bellows.

For one.... it should have the red STI script. That is a dead giveaway.

Perhaps you bought a later model STI intercooler? (I am not familiar with the 08+ models)

Or... perhaps you just got duped into an aftermarket model... because it does look a bit wide.

Yeah over on NASIOC I have it all straightened out. That's a 2011 TMIC. There is another righthand bracket that I needed. Thanks thought. Hopefully everything else works out fine.

By the way, it looks super clean under your hood. Excellent job!
