First time WRX owner in need of help!

Just got a '08 WRX a couple months ago. Unfortunately I have always been poor/without the means of learning basic engine and turbo mechanics and modifications. This is not longer the case but of course I am now at a disadvantage because I don't know anyone into modifications and am not sure where or how to begin. Though I don't know much about my WRX I am a jet engine mechanic so I have an in depth tool selection know-how and can easily understand engine systems and I've been told it is much easier to go from jet engine to learn a car engine then visa versa. So basically what I am asking for are other ways to learn the basics of engine/turbo systems and basic mods to improve performance such as in depth forums, threads, articles, videos, and so on.. Any advice is appreciated!

Well, you could start by reading all the stickies directly above this thread...

Not trying to be rude here, but all of those threads were stuck at the top for a reason.

After that, if you've read over the stickies, searched the forums, and have a specific question beyond that, fire away. You can also ask around in chat, although that's mostly used for social conversations. Have fun in your reading, and welcome to the club!

No worries. Just FYI, "threads of note" related to each overall forum topic are permanently "stuck" to the top of each forum thread list. Great place to get you started.
