How much power from a Stage 2 tune with intake ?

I've always heard that a catless downpipe + AEM intake will give you 300whp for sure. I have a 2013 wrx and wanna go open source but church tuning said only about 280 tops. Should I be able to get 300whp from an open source tune with catless turboback and AEM cold air?

Only the dyno can tell you.

Depends on the car, mods, tuner, dyno, weather at the time of dyno run....tons of factors. Don't focus on a specific number, get an idea of what you want, but focus more on the hp/tq curve of the pull than the actual peak #s.

Why are you asking an Internet forum instead of taking the word of the person who knows their setup best? On his dyno, he told you what you should expect to see. The final values mean pretty much nothing, anyway; what you care about is the delta and area under the curve. Before you throw the parts on your car, take it to the shop and get a baseline done. It'll be under $100 and if you've already got your tune booked and a deposit down, I wouldn't be surprised if they discounted it for you.

The tuner will map the car the way you request. That's why it's important to speak with them about what you want out of the car. Also, it's important that you go for a road checkup, both to clean up the tune a bit and to discuss how the car feels.

I'm at 285-290whp..Stage2 catless TBE w/ K&N and EBCS on 91oct....at 5280' 65deg on the VirtDyno...similar to lots of guys on this set up.

From what I've seen, most guys over the 300 mark are on new IC's and other smaller gain power mods like TGV's deletes and such.....I may be off, I'm no mech or tuner, just a happy Stg 2 guy that will be over 300 soon!

Dynos read differently (type, calibration, etc.). As I mentioned previously, the only thing to be concerned with when looking at a dyno graph is the before/after and the area under the curve. I can take my car from one dyno to the next, within an hour of each other (considering the loading/strap-down time) and make 50whp more at one vs the other. Does that mean my car gained 50whp driving to the other shop? No, they're just calibrated differently.

Matty wasn't attempting to "bash" anyone; that is clear. It is important for the OP to understand that "power figures" are merely manifestation of the output of a car measured in certain conditions, on a certain dyno, with a specific correction factor. 280whp on a dyno A in 95 degree F weather at 5000 feet may easily be the same as 300whp on dyno B at 50 degrees F at sea level. A dyno is a tuning tool and that's about it. Power bragging is just inane. Besides, a car tuned for an adequate and usable powerband will most certainly feel faster than one tuned for peak numbers

I made 304/322 with a DP and AEM CAI, but that was with a TP tune and a VD, not a real one.
