What stage 1 tune did you use that pushed you to 18PSI? What did you use to measure?

Is the OP running a catless down pipe? In which case, he probably is getting boost creep. If not, I've never heard of anybody having actual boost creep issues with a catted down pipe on the stock turbo.

If it's just a boost spike and his boost at redline is okay, I doubt that it's actually boost creep. I'd put money on the OTS tune just being a bit too high on the duty cycles or low on the corrections.

The OP isn't "spiking" or "creeping" at all...target boost is 18 for S1 and 19.5 for S2.

    1) STI (not a crappy OE TMIC like the 08+ WRX)
    2) Intake
    3) Conservative timing/fueling

Meh, I'm confused. If 19.5 is target boost then I'm gunna not worry about it and live on. If somethings wrong and a tune will not create a solution then I need to figure out how to have the car run correctly. I'm planning on selling my Rubicon soon and getting a muscle car as a weekend warrior and keep the STi as a daily, I need it running good.

What is "boost select" BTW (not being sarcastic - IDK).

I'm a bit confused... what is wrong again? Did I miss something?

I thought you were posting that you were looking to pick up some headers, and wanted to know if you would require a tune.... Not that something was wrong with your car.

The boost is spiking at 19.1-19.5 when it first hits boosts then settles at 18. I personally don't know much and was under the assumption this could be solved through a tune and am now pretty sure i'm being told its a mechanical problem and a tune will not help my situation. I'm confused, very confused.

Do a line graph of Boost vs RPM and post it up.

    No no no.

You said you were spiking or creeping, and other people got confused. You're hitting your boost target, and it is dropping from there - that sounds normal. If it is a very abrupt up/down you could work on it with a tune but it probably isn't an issue (if it is an issue you would see knock in that load/rpm area). It should continue to taper at the top RPM - if it is going up instead that would be a mechanical issue probably or possibly tunable. I highly doubt it if you have a catted DP. Post the graph that EJ suggested so we can see.
