The DP and move to Stg2 is the essential liberation that any WRX owner needs to feel. Its a large change from stock, not only in terms of power but also in general drivability because the aftermarket tunes are so much smoother.

    From my reading it seams that the IC will eak out a few more ponies from your current turbo/intake/exhaust etc...but is simply not the bump in the pants that opening up your turbo outlet from a small hole to a high flow larger dimension DP.

    Stock DP only lows the turbo to utilize a small part of its exit. Notice how much of the stock DP is blocked off. Only the pipe diameter itself is available to shove air through.

    Aftermarket Divorced...now the turbo can get more air out faster which means we can get more air into the engine faster from the intake side....which means we can get more power. I course that's very basic conceptually, a little more complicated in reality.

    thanks for the info!

    im new to car mods and need all the info i can get. once i got mine i was planning to buy the intake intercooler and downpipe all at once. with a tune obviously.

    Bahhlin...I was able to do the intake, EBCS and 3" TBE all at once....whole new rig after that. Love my car now....more like lust my car now!

    GL with it all! Do it right once, not crappy thrice!
