^^^ No.... but I would think if it were an electrical problem... it would be consistent all the time. Same thing with a vacuum leak... it would indicate right at startup.

After a couple days..... I see it the trend. The car starts and provides correct FP for the first 30 seconds.... and then drops off 10 psi.

I ordered an aftermarket adjustable FPR... I'm a bit concerned about using it though. I may be able to adjust the fuel pressure accordingly.... but unless it consistently "holds" pressure (without the 30-second 10psi drop).... then the problem is something else.

Good day ninefourteen, I have a similar problem and am so tired of al the other forums not ending in a clean final solution.

I have to say though, once one has ruled out the common ideas i.e. vacuum leak, low compression, compression leak, bad fuel, cracked sparkplugs and a few others, it starts to get annoying as to what the root problem is or could be.

I have been thinking it could be the FPR for a long time now, but have recently purchased a Taxtric cable and am now completely and utterly unsure once again as to the possible cause. Have you got a means of data-logging, and have you found any anomolies is falues you recieved? I have a particularly low IAM (or DAM) and some times it sits at 0 or 0.0625. I can reset the ecu and it will increase to 1 and then drop quickly to 0.8 or 0.75 and stay there for around 100km(60miles) or so and then drop straight down to 0.35 or 0 and stay there till I reset again. But the most strange part is if I reset by removing the battery leads and waiting +-30min, the IAM stays high for about 320km(200miles), way wierd. I do see lots of fine knock correction and loads of knock counts, but when I monitor specific cylinder knock nothing comes up.

Thus I am torn between pulling the motor and stripping the thing down to show it a good lesson, or start the long route of replacing part for part till by chance I hit it lucky.

On the side has your motor ever had a session of overheating, had the dealer pull the engine for a clutch or for any reason had to possibly mess around with the wiring and sensors i.e knock sensor or O2 sensors?

Hoping that the FPR come quick and that it assists or solves this annoying hesitation issue.

    Carl

It took me a little while.... and I still have not determined exactly why the FP drops 10psi about 30 seconds after I start the car. I'm not sure I'll ever know.

Changed the fuel filter, checked all the lines... no vacuum leaks, nothing wrong at all.

I did however install an adjustable Fuel pressure regulator this past weekend, along with a set of NGK 1-step colder Iridium plugs. The old plugs had about 40k on them... and they looked fine. I did it just for piece of mind.

Now... car idles at 35psi.... hits 62psi of FP at full boost (18.5psi)

Between the increase in fuel pressure and the new colder plugs... car runs like a bat out of hell...... MUCH better. I'm happy with the upgrade... and at least now I know I don't have to worry about low FP
