    Invidia downpipe question

Hey guys I have a quick question on a down pipe. I'm looking at a used downpipe. It says invidia on the bell mouth, but I noticed its a sticker and on two of my friends cars theirs have a welded on plate the says invidia.

So my question is. Is this downpipe a knockoff, or did some come with stickers instead of the plate?

It should have the plate. But then again, how old is it?

And is it just a purple and white sticker? Chances are that sticker will burn and peel off after a little time anyway.

I don't think it's too old it looks like it's a purple sticker. It's kind of a grayish purple so it may be laser etched into the downpipe.

    pics?

I had a brand new Invidia V3 DP on my first STI back in 2007...and it had the welded plate. So...I'm inclined to believe that's what it should still be (especially after seeing other pieces of theirs with welded plates). It seems the welded plate is their calling card...so a sticker would be weird to me.

No pics as its in a car that's in storage right now.

I was thinking the same thing, as I have yet to see one without the name plate.

Ask the seller for pics then. If he wants to make the sale, he will help out the prospective buyer. If you can't verify that it's an Invidia piece, offer him $100 and call it a day. If he doesn't accept, keep searching.

A Sticker? I don't think it is a true Invidia Downpipe. A sticker would not be able to withstand the temperatures of the exhaust gases.
