so i have a 2005 wrx. i installed a hks ssqv to the factory topmount and when the bov releases the extra air pressure it comes out in one sound. not the trickle effect ive noticed some cars fitted with the ssqv sound like. so my question is how do i get my ssqv to do it? sorry if its a really newbie question but i cant seem to find any info on how to do it.

OP: Did you tune the BOV? This is preloading the BOV spring pressure.
Actually, while it is compressor stall, it's not true compressor surge. A common misnomer. Compressor surge occurs when the compressor flow exceeds the surge line, or the point when cavitation occurs leading to unstable flow.Originally Posted by Ruh Roh

i havent done anything to the bov besides install it
Please read the instructions. You need to tune the BOV to ensure that it does not leak and regularly clean to make sure it works properly.
