    2.0 to 2.5 hybrid swap

    Im currently working on the 2.0 to 2.5 swap in my 05 wrx. i'm looking for any tips or advice for the swap. i have my eyes set on a 09 ej257 short block from Flatirontuning.com and also getting the master swap kit that includes the replacement parts and ext. Curious if the newer block will work with the 2.0 valves n ext. and advise would greatly appreciated.

    How do you plan to lower the CR? Ideally, you should have the heads ported to match, which I know EQ Tuning can do:

    Yeah, think about the heads.. you don't have to go the combustion chamber match route, but it is the best option. Also, if you're planning on running a turbo larger than stock I would consider upgrading the cams in your existing heads to at least STi ones (on stock WRX cams my power fell off a ton up top). You should have the heads refreshed anyways, so the additional cost of putting STi cams in isn't much in the big picture.

    Nothing to worry about with the vlaves as long as they're in good condition.
