hey i am doing a 06-07 front end conversion on my 02 wrx and the bumper that i have for the conversion is cut out for a FMIC. Now i was thinking of switching to FMIC but i keep hearing that it causes a considerable amount of turbo lag but is this true?

Why would you keep hearing it if it weren't true?

You choose your intercooler based on need. On smaller turbos, where response is key, a FMIC is counterproductive. For a FMIC to be worthwhile, you have a built motor, headwork, cams, and a turbo that flows in upper RPMs. If you don't have $10K+ invested in power mods alone, I'd stick with a TMIC.
