    ProcessWest TMIC....potential issue

This is for all those who already have a PW TMIC installed.

Recently I had a boost leak issue, and while fixing it I found something slightly allarming so I figured I would share as I would never have noticed if not for having to wrench on it again. This may not happen to any of you, but figured I would put it out there anyway....

The driver's side brace that holds the IC...the one that you reused from your stock mounting....it can rub against your brake fluid resiviour when the engine torques from heavy acceleration....and as it is made of stamped metal, if it rubs, it will gouge the plastic tank.

Check your brake fluid resiviour to see if it is effected, and if so, take action while it is still cosmetic.

I'd consider contacting PW about that as well. I am sure as a manufacturer they'd appreciate that feedback and work to clear it up.

There is nothing really for them to clear up. The issue is a result of the retained stock braket. This could be fixed by either giving us a new piece rather than reusing the stock....which is kind of a waist....or adding instructions to grind/file/cut that bracket a bit for clearance the way you do with that metal plate near the shifter when you install an adjustable STS.

I will let them know as it is not an issue for PW locally since they have RHD cars, and this only effects LHD cars.

I've read about this before so I took that bracket to the grinder and removed some of it and made it smooth so if it does touch the brake reservoir it won't cut into it.

Oh...nice....thanks Eric for noting that....lets me know it was not just me.

Currently mine is just back in there, but the piece is real easy to nab out of the car, so it will be coming back out soon to be filed down (today I was more worried about the other issues I have been having to deal with this)

This is an install issue and is fixable. Mine was doing this at first but with some forcing you can get quite a bit of clearance off the reservoir. My car was like this as was my friends, both are now fixed.

Your friend was rubbing himself against fluid reservoirs too much so you had him fixed??
