EL header + stock muffler louder than stock?

I have a subwoofer enclosure in the spare tire well, CLD matting, closed-cell foam and rubber sheet sound barrier under that, and under the rear seat. Similar treatment in all four doors...

Ended up with a Dynomax 17665 welded into a custom axleback. 76mm all the way through. No drone at any point. Windows up it's almost as quiet as stock in the cabin. Windows down there is a nice subtle growl I didn't have before. Probably within 2 or 3db of stock from outside. Very happy with this.

Cool. I was hoping one of the aftermarket companies would make a nice catback aimed towards people with EL headers. Disappointed to see that they haven't yet. I may look into one of those.

The muffler is about $100. Get an exhaust shop to weld up some 3" bends and enjoy. Zero drone.
