If all else fails you can always get a new wife.
i would maybe look into a resonator like you said or maybe one to two glass pack sections put in there. both options wouldnt restrict any performance. thats crazy that an oem axleback would be too loud for some lady. she needs to get a job.

It sets off alarms? Wow.
Maybe that muffler is just shot?

Cutout isn't leaking.. I opened it last week to see how it sounded with the ELH. The gasket is still in decent shape. When it's leaking I can hear a pulsing airy sound from underneath the car.. The exhaust isn't stock, the muffler is from a STi, everything upstream from from there is aftermarket, no cats.
I have considered that possibility.. and it might just be me, but it seems like it's getting louder. I can't really tell because if it is it has been a gradual transition. I've only put 10k miles on it, but I bought it used from a guy who had it on his S204, so obviously he had bought it used as well. The problem is, how do I know if it's shot, swap it with another one and just hope it gets quieter? Maybe I can find someone local with the same muffler who wants to be louder and we can try swapping to see if it makes a difference..
It seems odd, even with all the other work to your car, that it would be that loud with stock catback. But what do I know.

Or maybe I'm just getting old? I distinctly remember it seeming quieter after going ELH, but last week I opened the cutout for the first time in over a year just to see how it sounded and I could swear it's louder than I remember it being with unequal length headers. I mean it is loud LOUD, you can hardly hear the EWG kick open.. but with the open downpipe and EWG going it does sound very racecar.
I may have to make another recording so I can compare before and after new cams and turbo kit.
